Why the coach picked it
- Stronger steel. Rogue lists the Echo at 190,000 PSI tensile strength. REP lists the Delta at 135 ksi, which is 135,000 PSI.
- No center knurl on the Echo. Rogue built it that way for high-rep work out of the front rack. The Delta has a center knurl.
- Rogue machines and assembles the Echo in Columbus, Ohio, from US steel, and gives it an F8-R durability rating. REP's page doesn't say where the Delta is made or give an F rating.
- Bright zinc on the Echo's shaft and sleeves versus bright chrome on the Delta. Both are 20 kg bars that spin on bushings: bronze on the Echo, brass on the Delta.
- Both carry a 1-year warranty. Rogue's covers construction defects and bending.
When the other one is the right call
Buy the Delta if you mostly squat, bench and deadlift and rarely drop the bar. The center knurl helps hold the bar on your back for squats, it has both IPF and IWF marks, and it's $55.01 less with free shipping while the Echo is on Rogue's Hot Deal ($85.01 less at the Echo's $285 normal price).
